The Orchestra

John Gibbons has built a formidable reputation for his engaging talks and exciting programming. Everyone is made welcome, irrespective of whether this is their first or 100th WSO concert and John’s illuminating introductions offer a more in-depth knowledge and enjoyment of the wonderful music this professional orchestra brings to the audience. — Online Review (2013/14 Season)

Another fulfilling season of a quality and consistency, concert by concert, unmatched anywhere in the county. — Richard Amey, Worthing Herald

We were spellbound by the magnificent orchestra performing such wonderful symphonies ... Worthing certainly has an orchestra to be proud of. — Bob Smytherman, former Mayor

The doors close, the lights dim and I am transported. A professional orchestra in full flow and the sound soars around what I realise is an almost perfect hall for classical music. I am astounded at how good it sounds...how good they are. — Audience Review (2015/16 season)

Since 1926 the highly acclaimed Worthing Symphony Orchestra has been an invaluable asset to the local community. WSO produces an annual season of eight concerts at the Assembly Hall, Stoke Abbott Road, with its exceptional acoustics.

To stage a full season of Worthing Symphony Orchestra concerts costs in excess of £150,000, only part of which is paid for by ticket sales. We rely on the generosity of individuals, organisations and charitable trusts to help the Orchestra survive. We invite you to join the Worthing Symphony Society and help support the Orchestra for its next 100 years.
